Eligibility to Access Funding
Our Modern Apprenticeships are fully funded by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) – there is no financial cost to you or your employer.
Funding is available exclusively to employees living and working in Scotland, through the Scottish Government’s commitment to developing skills and supporting business growth.
Whether you’re an employer looking to upskill your team or an employee ready to take the next step in your career, we’ll guide you through the process from start to finish.
To be eligible, you’ll need:
- A job role where the apprenticeship aligns with your daily duties and career development.
- The support of your employer throughout your training.
- An on-the-job mentor – usually a manager or supervisor – who can help you apply your new skills in the workplace.
If you’re applying as a learner, our team will help you explain the funding to your employer and we’ll train your on-job mentor so everyone understands how the apprenticeship works and how to support you best.
Delivery, Training & Assessment
Our Modern Apprenticeships are designed around the individual learner and their job role. Each learner follows a detailed Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that aligns personal development with business goals.
We offer a hybrid training model, combining:
- Instructor-led remote training sessions
- In-person drop-in sessions
- Interactive knowledge decks and video resources
Learning takes place on the job with regular support from our expert assessors. Learners have 1-1 meetings (in person or remote) regularly, alongside quarterly progress reviews that build knowledge, confidence, and professional skills.
There are no exams – assessment is portfolio-based, allowing learners to demonstrate competence through real workplace performance.
Assessment methods include:
Culminating in a workbased learning project, supported by:
- Observation
- Case studies
- Guided discussions
- Research projects
- Question and answer sessions
- Witness testimonies
- Reflective accounts supported by work-based evidence
All evidence is uploaded to our online collaborative portfolio platform. This enables learners, mentors, and assessors to track progress, view evidence, and meet learning outcomes
Every 12 weeks, the learner, mentor, and assessor meet to review achievements, reflect on progress, and update the ILP to ensure continued alignment with both business objectives and personal development goals.

Success Stories
“As someone who has always been curious about data but never knew where to start, this course was a game-changer. The course content is clear, practical, and surprisingly balanced for a non-techie like me. I loved how it broke down complex concepts into bite-sized lessons, and the support from instructors was very helpful. Whether you’re looking to upskill for work or just want to understand the world through data, this course makes achievable. I would highly recommend to anyone in Scotland ready to take that first step”

’I started this course with zero prior knowledge or experience within data analytics. It’s been very enjoyable and I’ve surprised myself with how much I’ve achieved so far. The course explains everything clearly and breaks it down in a way that makes it feel achievable. From learning how to clean, transform and manage data whilst using tools such as Python and SQL. There’s something really satisfying about learning a new concept and seeing your progress throughout. I enjoy the journey from start to finish of a new topic and having to learn from errors and find an alternative way that works to get to the correct end result. I’d recommend it to anyone curious about data analytics or if you want to learn a brand new skill.’’
